The Kiss of Clouds
We woke to white.
Our altitude is high enough that when the clouds come down and "kiss the mountains" (as we say), well, now we're all wrapped up in that kiss instead of getting to watch from below like we used to.
It is beautiful indeed.
The snow has been trading off with the sun all day.
Snow--sun---snow--sun.
Some of us have been sledding (out our backdoor! yippee!), some of us have been making gingerbread cookies, some of us have been making cauliflower soup for a Halloween Harvest party tomorrow with friends.
We've been reading and doing math and bagging chicken that we ordered in bulk.
Listening to books on CD, writing in journals, putting on magic shows, applauding wildly.
Vacuuming and folding clothes, sledding again, enjoying new slippers.
I love these quiet days at home.
I love those days out, too, with all the opportunities and learning and friends. ut, oh!
But, oh! days at home are so, so lovely.

Breathtaking. And the cookies! It doesn't get any better.
Sounds like a perfect day. xoxo
