Renaissance Festival

Yesterday we went to the Renaissance Festival.  We had fun learning about armor, bad nutrition which made a grown man in the 1500s roughly the size of Ella, saw a fierce looking pirate, watched a trebuchet get launched (amazingly cool!), sampled (nonalcoholic) honey mead and almost got to watch some great jousting but they were off that day.

I don't know if you can tell but the boys were quite taken aback by this pirate guy.  I think they weren't altogether sure that he wasn't a REAL PIRATE.
