Happy Advent
I love December.
It holds my favorite holiday. One full of childhood memories and ones that I've made as an adult.
The grandest tradition we've established as a family is to celebrate December and the coming of Christmas by doing an Advent activity every day of the month leading up to Christmas Day.
Some are pretty simple (take a winter hike) and some are more elaborate (crafts, concerts, etc).
Here are a few peeks at our fun this year, so far:
Decorate the tree:
The four kids! We do know the name of this littlest of girls....but we're waiting until she's here to announce it.
Sugar on Snow:
Rice Krispy Treat "Gingerbread" Houses:
Dinner at The Pie Pizzeria and to Temple Square to see the lights:
It started blizzarding and it took us.....wait for it.....THREE hours (and chains on our tires) to get home. Gulp.
Christmas Concert with The Mormon Tabernacle Choir:
We saw "Gimli"!!!
Making Yarn Balloons:
This one was sort of a flop.
Making Tissue Paper Lanterns for our Solstice Walk:
These came out spectacularly!
