Fieldtripping::Mummies of the World

We spent the day in the city.

With the dog.

And went to an amazing visiting exhibit that was both truly fascinating, beautiful,  and (I must admit) sort of creepy.

Mummies of the World.

We saw the Bodies exhibit a few years ago and I felt very similarly in Mummies as I did then.  

Awed at the beauty of what I saw. 

Slightly agitated wondering if I really thought it was ok---as the museums do---to be sharing what seems so private (the body, the stillness of death) with someone who had not---could not---give their permission.  I have been mulling the ethics of it in my head for these last few weeks.
