Hurt No Living Thing

by Christina Rosetti

Hurt no living thing;

Ladybird, nor butterfly,

nor moth with dusty wing,

nor cricket chirping cheerily,

nor grasshopper so light of leap,

nor dancing gnat, nor beetle fat,

nor harmless worms that creep.

This is our September poem.  A good challenge to us as we live in a spider-filled house.  We are trying to catch and release more and crush-from-fear less.

I was deeply inspired by the Carnival of Charlotte Mason here (go to the 9/18/07 post...I don't know how to permalink this....sorry!).  Oh, Reader! go and read this carnival!  It is beautiful.  And perfect for September when the weather seems perfect and there is just so much to DO out-of-doors.
